They say the world is becoming smaller and the people are coming closer day by day.  Sure, today I can brag about the n number of friends that I have across the globe, but do I really know them? Yet, I spend a whooping hundred and seventy-five rupees every month to keep in touch with people to whom I’m only a green dot i.e a person who is online.
I would like to quote a line from the movie boyhood- Maybe, humans didn’t have the resources to build actual robots, so they decided to convert humans into robots instead. Look around you; people are walking around with their heads buried in their mobile screens, completely unaware of the beauty of their surroundings. The only beauty that captures their eye is the one that are social media upload able.  Every breath, every action, every major decision in their life is based upon the likes they’ll get from these virtual friends, the friends, whose friendship lasts till the battery dies.

So hopelessly attached are we to these gadgets that now we find it difficult to have a conversation that involves directly looking into the eyes of an individual. The only time it is acceptable to look into the eyes is when the front camera is on and you are looking into the eyes of a virtual image that will very soon be uploaded on the walls of a socially accepted media.
The lines of individuality are blurring. Very soon there will be a world where no two people are different. A place where everyone will vie with each other to see which one will be the best. 

I have just one question that I would like to ask- out of these millions of people that u talk to, whom will you call at your time of need? Do you think they’ll spare a minute of their life to listen to what you have to say if you are unhappy? No; they won’t be around during your troubled times, they’ll be around only till you have the power to entertain them.  Because it is that easy, u see, if you can make friends in seconds, it also gives u the power to cut the chord with the same speed.
Now I ask you, to introspect- how many minutes of your precious lives do you spend trying to get an approval from these friends. Every single minute, isn’t it?
Just shut down that phone for a day, and do what you feel like doing. Cry because you feel like crying not because you didn’t get enough likes on face book, laugh with your family, not on a joke that popped up on your screen, click pictures to capture the moment, not because you want to upload it for the world to see, and last but not the least, make time for yourself, because when you don’t weigh yourself down with expectations, only then will you be liberated, you’ll be free.
